Hello everyone,

I have to say the campaign is off to a pretty impressive start and excitement is building. Thanks to Jaymi, Montesha, Tyna, Angel and my parents who assist me tremendously with day-to-day operations of the campaign and to all of you who have been spreading the word about the campaign with family and friends. The support we have gained so far is phenomenal.

Believe it or not, spring is on its way and the street campaign, or canvass, is just around the corner. Within the next four to six weeks I will begin walking the city, going door to door in every ward and every neighborhood in an attempt to meet personally with every Beckley resident. This is the next step in growing the campaign and building a citywide network of support. Today, I am asking you to join me again in asking your friends, family and neighbors to sign up as part of the Tony|2011 Street Team.

Think of the canvass as a neighborhood walk, a chance to get out in the community and meet your neighbors. Each day I canvass, I will need a group of at least four or five volunteers to accompany me to keep the walk fun and help with information gathering and completing pledge forms. I am also looking for volunteers willing to serve as block captains responsible for organizing and recruiting volunteers to participate in the canvass of their neighborhood, block or street.

Joining the Street Team is simple. Send an email with JOIN in the subject line to StreetTeam-Request@newbeckley.com. We will send you an email confirming your registration and provide you with more details on the canvass and multiple opportunities to get involved. Most of all, I hope this will be a FUN experience for the entire family. We are planning a volunteer meeting for Saturday, March 20th.
